At WFBT Dance Academy we strive to hire teachers that are passionate about both dance and teaching. They have excellent communication, organization and leadership skills. They are passionate about teaching the tradition of dance to every student and to convey the very difficult concepts of dance to our students.

Artistic Director | Instructor

Erin Fike

Erin Fike has been involved in dance for over 37 years. She began her training under Frank and Irina Pal in 1986 and then continued with Pati and Gari Bohem once they took over as the Artistic Directors of the WFBT. During her time with the Bohems, Erin took part in many ballets. She was given numerous roles in Nutcracker such as Sugar Plum Fairy, Rat Queen, and Snow Queen just to name a few. As a matter of fact, she has performed almost every single role in the Nutcracker with maybe 2 or 3 exceptions.

While with the Bohems, Erin took on the role of Ballet Mistress. She taught classes and assisted in rehearsals as well as choreographing several original works for the ballet. In the spring of 2004 Erin moved to New York City to attend the American Musical and Dramatic Academy to further her training in not only dance, but in musical theatre as well. At AMDA, she danced ballet, jazz, tap, modern, and theatre dance. All of this helped her to further her knowledge in the performance world. In the winter of 2006 Erin returned home and continued her training with the WFBT. She once again took up her role as ballet mistress and continued to teach and choreograph.

In 2012, Erin took a step back from the ballet world to focus on musical theatre and to acquire more professional jobs. She took on roles in several shows such as Annie Get Your Gun, White Christmas, A Chorus Line and Cabaret. In the fall of 2017 Erin returned to her ballet roots when the Liberatores hired her to be a dance teacher and choreographer once again for the ballet. She was even given the opportunity to perform in the Nutcracker, WFBT Presents and Sleeping Beauty. When she isn’t dancing, teaching or choreographing Erin spends her free time singing at several establishments around Wichita Falls with her husband Dustin. She is also a member of a Bob Dylan cover band with her husband as well because let’s face it, who needs down time? Not Erin.

Asst. Artistic Director | Ballet Mistress | Instructor

Rebecca Ferguson

After attending her first Nutcracker at the age of three, Rebecca fell in love with the
magic of ballet. She began her dancing career at the age of four at the Boehm Ballet
Academy of Dance. She studied under Patricia Thornton and Gari Boehm and joined
the Wichita Falls Ballet Theatre at the age of eleven. During those years, she performed several lead roles in the Nutcracker, most notably Clara, for seven years.

Rebecca continued her career with the WFBT as they welcomed Valentine and Mishic
Liberatore as the new directors. Under their leadership, Rebecca’s most memorable
roles in the Nutcracker were Snow Queen and Spanish lead. Her final bow was in 2016
as Hippolyta in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, a role that was choreographed for her to
showcase her individual strengths as a dancer.

Rebecca challenged herself when asked to appear as Louise in Roger and
Hammerstein’s Carousel with Opera Breve in 2014. She also appeared as Dream
Laurey in Oklahoma a few years later. After retiring from the ballet stage in 2016, Rebecca joined the artistic staff of WFBT and the teaching staff of WFYB. She enjoys teaching her students as much as they teach her on a daily basis. She also loves seeing the transformation in her dancers from the classroom to the stage.

Rebecca is currently employed full time at Texoma Outpatient Surgery Center in Wichita Falls. When not at work or the studio, she can be found curled up with a good book, a cup of coffee and her dog, Finn. Rebecca would like to thank the WFBT for their many years of support, encouragement and love. She would also like to thank her parents for their endless words of wisdom, support and lots and lots of dog sitting!
